Traveling Mego Hulk
Adventures from Around the World

We are trying to get pictures of Mego Hulk as he travels all over the world, or at least most of North America.  The Hulk is one of the most recognizable characters worldwide, and since he isn't tied down to one city, like Spiderman, Batman, or Superman, it only makes sense he would be seen all over the place.  So far, he's been to 14 States and the Capitol, and 3 countries.  His 2004 summer itinerary added New Jersey, New York City, Delaware, Maryland, Washington, DC, more of California and Arizona, with rumors of sightings in Australia.  Apparently although many Canadians have seen him and promised to take pictures of him there, so far he has been as elusive as Sasquatch. Fall 2004 looks good for Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Upstate NY, more of NJ, possibly The Grand Canyon, and a small possibility of Asia.

Want to see your Mego Hulk on this page?  Take a picture of your Hulk at a famous place or identifiable area, even if its just the local Welcome to Hicksville sign (place names in signs are great).  Do your best to make it seem that he's full sized (see examples of "forced perspective" below).

The World's Tallest Fountain runs every hour for 10 minutes from 7 am to 9pm, and can reach heights of 560 feet with all three pumps on. Hulk calls this "home". Grabbing a few beers at Doc Holliday's favorite watering hole. Hulk gets smashed and gets in dispute over the bar bill. Hulk is told to settle meet some of Kate's friends at the OK Corral. Hulk Smash. Hulk gets the noose for his rude behavior at the Cochise County Courthouse.  Fortunately no harm is done and he goes home to travel another day. Puny humans.  Try to charge Hulk $20 to see plants in a tent. Hulk no pay. Hulk SMASH Biosphere.

Hulk in 2004... Why not? Taken at the Pima Air & Space Museum The largest privately funded air museum has a wide assortment of military aircraft, partially due to its proximity to the Pima AFB. This is one of the presidential planes JFK used.  Nice accomodations for a smaller plane. This beautiful mission is being renovated, but Hulk enjoyed some of the interesting Spanish influences inside the church itself. This extremely large cross can be seen on the road south towards Bisbee Arizona. It is on a Franciscan Mission's communal property. The 55 degree temperatures in the mine are a welcome relief from the heat of the Southern Arizona desert.

Famous for hang-gliding, it is right next to the famous Torrey Pines Golf Club. Hulk was beginning to see things in the 118 degree heat at this park near the hottest city in Arizona, Gila Bend. Hulk wanted to learn more about surfing, so he went to the Surfers Museum at this "rad" surfing spot. Hulk ate some Gilroy Garlic Fries, and played games at the Santa Cruz Boardwalk.  Mrs. Hulk paid dearly for the next two hours whenever Hulk belched.

Hulk enjoyed his first boat ride on his final day in Hawaii.  The Mai Ta'i catamaran left from the Sheraton Waikiki. Hulk above the bay created in a volcano's crater. He enjoyed the snorkeling and hanging out with a curious sea turtle. Hulk glances over at Chinaman's Hat, which is an outcropping of lava shaped like a Chinese peasant's chapeau, hence the name. These falls drop about 150 feet into a small pool. They recommended NOT swimming in the pool at the bottom, but Hulk disregarded these warnings. The Byodo-In temple is a replica of a 900 year old one located in Uji, Japan. Hulk got to ring the 3 ton brass Peace Bell and hang with Buddha.

Not many people realize Hulk is a Buddhist.  This is a good place for contemplation and a sit as you circle Oahu. Hulk wanted to join the show, but when he got on stage everyone ran back to their bus. King Kamehameha defeated his enemies by tossing them off these cliffs.  Hulk was tempted to do the same to some tourists. Claiming to be Hawaii's most popular paid attraction, Hulk was forced to sit outside.  He has no pockets to hold money. Hulk leaped to the top of this famous Oahu landmark, and looked down at Waikiki Beach. It is normally about.8 mile hike, with many stairs and a couple of tunnels.

At 726 feet tall, the Dam is 171 feet taller than the Washington Monument and twice as tall as the nearby Luxor Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Hulk is amazed at the vastness of this lake. The largest reservoir in the US, it contains enough water to flood the state of NY with 1foot of water, 26 million acre feet. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Lets just say he ran up a large tab at some adult establishments and had no money.  He needs to know a Mr. Fixit.

The Udvar-Hazy extension of the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum is now open. It is a modern structure housing over 80 planes and many space craft. The prototype of the Space Shuttle fleet is under renovations. Parts of the wing are missiing for investigation. One of the few examples of the world's only supersonic passenger jet is now on display since the fleet was grounded. Ask not what Hulk can do for you, ask what you can do for Hulk.  JFK and Jackie are buried here at Arlington Cemetery, overlooking DC. The amphitheatre is where ceremonies are held when visiting dignitaries come to Arlington to lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. One of the most honored rituals in our nations military is the Changing of the Guard, which is done every 30 minutes. The precision ceremony lasts nearly 15 minutes, rain or shine.

A fitting new tribute to veterans known as ""the greatest generation". It was opened Memorial Day, 2004, and many of these aging soldiers are thankful for the tribute and a simple "thank you". Possibly the most moving memorial in Washington, the names of over 50,000 soldiers are listed here. It is not uncommon to see veterans crying quietly here. This memorial is a haunting tribute to the members of the United Nations action in Korea.  There is a also a wall with ghost like etchings and the fitting saying "Freedom is not Free". Undergoing renovations, the scaffolding has been removed and the reflection of this great marble structure is mirrored in The Reflecting Pool. The WW2 Memorial is between the Pool and the monument.

When asked if he had anything to declare, all he said was "Hulk likes cerveza!". Hulk's head hurt from trying to read this sign.  All he wanted was a beer. No Beer here! The closest beach to Phoenix is Puerto Penasco, also known as Rocky Point. The Mexicans know how to make a beer.  Since Hulk was told not to drink the water, he enjoyed a couple cold ones. The Dread pirate Hulk visited Campeche, Mexico along with his friend, Raul May.  The visited the famous Baluarte de San Miguel. A famous Mayan trading port on the Yucatan Peninsula, Campeche is the capital city of the state that also bears its name.

The Baluartes, or bulwarks in English, were built from 1650 to 1668 to defend from actual Pirates. The Spanish discovered Campeche in 1517, but did not settle here until 1540.  Timber, Silver and Gold were popular exports. Campeche is a beautiful colonial city, largely undiscovered by tourists, which Hulk prefers.  Hulk SMASH tourists! UNESCO declared it a World Heritage Site in 1999. The entire city was walled, and most of the Baluartes still exist. Hundreds of houses and haciendas have been restored with their original pastel colors. Hulk enjoyed playing Pirate, but now he needs a Cerveza!
